SURINAME JOURNAL

I started 'Suriname Journal' in 2014, on a search to connect deeper to my father’s roots in South America’s former-Dutch colony.

Through visual documentation, this on-going personal project exemplifies the tiny country made up of over 560,000 people as a case study of multiculturalism. Suriname Journal brings to focus self-identity, while serving as an observation and investigation of post-colonialism and heritage.

95% of Suriname is rainforest, making it the most green-filled country in the world.
